Aren’t you lucky to be here? …
As I share my embarrassing mistakes!
I’m sure you WON’T make any ones like this yourself.
But… there’s perhaps no better way to learn than royally screwing up!
Like the time I sent the EXACT SAME email to my list… twice!
😳
We’re talking one week apart.
The problem was, I’d not updated my schedule after sending the last week’s email.
So I was thinking I had this incomplete draft still hanging around.
While editing, the thought did flash past…
“This seems awfully familiar. And is pretty good for a draft.” 🤔
But I didn’t “click.”
You see… my mush-brain doesn’t usually remember much of the previous week. (Let alone the previous day! 😆)
Plus, it wasn’t helped by STILL not following my own advice…
To avoid last-minute-rushes and messing something up…
“Chris, make sure you get your emails scheduled at least ONE DAY before they’re due to go out.”
(This was before my daily email list. Now I write a fresh email most days. Plus, I’ve tightened up my processes just a wee bit since then!)
Yep… it’s a simple story… with a simple moral…
Keep your planning schedules up to date. And schedule emails the day prior wherever possible.
So you too can avoid the sting of a swift facepalm. 🤦♂️
