I’m no longer the early adopter I once was.
Even this tech geek got rather tired wasting time and money on stuff that just turned out to be half-baked junk. 😢
So I’m now somewhat cautious.
And usually quite happy to be in the middle of the bell curve for jumping on board with new gizmos and widgets.
But this tech I’ve just started using is so cool.
It’s new to me. But has been around for a while. So I’m not risking cutting myself on the bleeding edge of this tool.
It’s called Descript.
I use it for editing my Email Ace audio. And it lets me edit using words!
For a writer you can imagine just how delightful that is.
I know how to do the usual audio editing stuff using tools like Audacity…
But it’s SO MUCH FASTER when you can just delete a word to remove an “um.”
And be editing your transcript into better shape AT THE SAME TIME as editing your audio!
Even cutting and pasting blocks of text to another place carries the audio along with it!
Then you can use its built-in publishing feature to share your creation with the world.
Which is EXACTLY what I’m now doing to share Email Ace releases.
Email Ace still comes via your inbox. But you get a link to the published audio and transcript.
Simply using Descript has shaved a pile of geeky complexity from my publishing process. Which means: time saved.
I love how the audio and transcript can be published together.
And the transcript tracks along with the audio. To highlight the current word.
Which in my book is freakin’ awesome!
It’s so good if you like reading and listening at the same time.
Plus, you can still download the audio and play it with another player if you like.
Sometimes tech like this just makes life better. 😊
And it’s a nice upgrade for my Email Ace subscribers.
