A simple content-writing trick

Here’s a simple content-writing “trick” I’m enjoying using…

I tend to write a fair few replies to people in Facebook groups. Or LinkedIn DMs.

I appreciate connecting with people. Interacting. And helping out where I can.

Often, I’ll write a comment that has a bit of meat to it. It might only be a couple of paragraphs.

But with the context of the question… and the answer of mine…

There’s the basis of something useful to share with a wider audience. Like for my daily email to freelancers.

So I’ll often flesh it out into more complete content. But other times, I don’t need to because I’ve written enough in my comment already!

Then I often take my emails… massage them a little… and create a LinkedIn article.

Sometimes I’ve written so much in a comment… already in my own style… it takes very little time to get my email into shape. Same thing for an email-to-article effort.

One of the beauties of this is:

When I’m replying to comments… I’m much more relaxed and fluid with my writing.

I guess you could say: it’s more natural Chris. So they tend — in my mind — to sound less contrived.

Plus: these are replies to real-world questions, concerns, happenings and whatnot.

This fires me up more than simply addressing hypotheticals.

Have you got your own tricks for repurposing “everyday” writing?

Fare thee well,

Chris “repurposing for the win” Milham

P.S. You’d better believe: this email started its life as a Facebook group post 😉
