An important question for you at the end…

I’ll let you in on a secret…

I write a daily email to get in my “write every day” reps.

It’s not the only reason. But it’s a big one.

It’s one of those 7… or is it 10? … rules for writers to follow.

And not a bad idea for any freelance business owner wanting to lift their writing game.

As writers we’re encouraged to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboards) and write something every day.

Whether it’s an article, blog post or an e-mail. Or even a journal entry or poem.

So long as it’s something involving writing.

So I’m writing this daily e-mail… because this is the way I’ve made the write-every-day thing work for me.

You see…

Before starting this I was SOOO inconsistent. I just couldn’t settle into writing the articles I had lined up for myself.

They were on topics I wanted to write about…

Why WordPress stinks… how to use Google Docs efficiently for client projects… stuff like that.

But I’d not clearly defined my audience. So my purpose was murky. And I think that torpedoed my motivation.

When I discovered daily email writing… it was like night and day with the whole motivation and “writer’s block” stuff.

Because I now knew my audience. And I was even one of them.

And you, NAME, scored a front-row seat!

Plus:

I had a clear PURPOSE driving me.

Being able to experiment with writing these daily emails… also gave a greater sense of freedom and joy.

Now, I like bonuses. And one very cool one with writing daily email is:

The more I write… the more I’m inspired to write and create.

More writing means I’m fairly rapidly building a library of my own content.

I’m starting to put it out into the wider world. In places like LinkedIn.

But I can also go back at any time and fossick around in my email archives when I want a story or idea that I’ve already used.

If you’re a writer (and writers write, right?)… then this “write every day” thing is gold.

What better way to do more writing than writing an email every day?

Gawsh I’m biased… but at least you know it! 😁

I encourage other writers to perhaps give this a go… particularly if they’re looking to grow their own business.

I’ve also been wondering if you’d find it useful to try?

My approach to it is very Chris-esque.

🤣

ahem

Now that I’ve finished laughing at myself…

I’m thinking of putting together a short, low-priced ebook… a “howto” guide on writing daily email to level-up your writing.

In it you’ll find things like:

  • Why write daily email? And the benefits for your freelancing business (more than I mentioned today)

  • Why having an audience is a MUST (it can’t just be a convenient family member!)

  • How to ignore just about every bit of copywriting advice you’ve ever learned for emails. And why this will make your daily emails SO MUCH BETTER.

  • How forgetting about images and design in emails can work to your advantage. And your audience’s.

  • My toolkit for writing and emailing daily. Including why I use BerserkerMail. And I’ll also point out some free options that won’t leave you pulling your hair out (too much, anyway!)

  • How to leverage daily email writing practice as a core part of your business.

That’s all my idea-generator came up with just now. But no doubt I’ll cover more things.

If you have suggestions, within the scope of “how to use daily email to level-up your writing”…

Now’s the time to “speak now or forever hold your peace”.

If you’d find an ebook like this useful… let me know by clicking here

If no one clicks… then my dreams of releasing my first ever small product will go down in flames. 😢

But, no matter… you’ve not seen the size of my “product ideas” list.

And guess what daily activity has been helping to inspire THAT? 😎

I’ll catch you again tomorrow… when it’s daily email writing time.

P.S. Please email any suggestions to me. But do click the link if you’re interested. 😃
