A couple of weeks back a friend shared a quote he really likes.
It goes like this:
“Commit to consistency, not perfection. You’ll get further by taking messy action than no action at all.”
And I’m like… YES!!
Because that was a hard-learned lesson for me.
You see…
I’d be there for hours trying to make my website look awesome. And spending time on a million other “must do” things.
All the while, missing the more important stuff. Like focusing on improving the skills that I can actually use to generate income. And putting time into marketing my business.
Sometimes I was oblivious. Other times I was hiding from doing hard stuff.
So the reply I shared was this:
Absolutely!
My mashed-up version of this is on a poster on my wall that I see every day. From a couple of sources, including Tony Robbins.
It reads: “The answer: Take massive imperfect action!”
And taking action does help…
Because since I’ve started taking big, hairy, scary action… and making my own luck (not waiting around for it to drop from the sky)… things have started to happen.
Including my own confidence massively growing. Getting clients. And now working on my own products.
This seems to be an area it takes some of us a while to “click” about. Or realize that:
Avoidance doth not a successful business make
But I tell you what… the moment you’re like:
“Right… I’m going to do this thing… and keep on doing this thing.” …
The confidence-energy (that’s what I’m calling it)… is like nothing else!
And… if you’re like me… you might kinda smile at the former you who was acting like a scaredy-cat…
When what lay on the other side of fear… was something freakin’ awesome!
Go well… go do those scary things!
P.S. One of those potentially scary things that’s going on here… is preparing the ebook that I’m trying to get finished by the end of this month.
It’s about a simple method of repurposing social media comments to generate content you can use for a variety of purposes. For your business or your clients’ businesses.
This won’t solve all your content-creation problems. But does give an easy-to-follow method that helps me produce and repurpose content without hassle.
It’s called: The Lazybones Method of Easy Content Creation
