When I get replies to my welcome email, one theme pops up a lot…
It’s about a big — if not the biggest — challenge for people wanting to make progress in their freelancing business…
…while they’re juggling other jobs, family, and a million other things.
It’s simply: “Finding time to…”
Just the other day a friend mentioned this. And I was reminded that I’ve got similar things going on… and am trying something out that seems to be working for me.
Maybe it could help them?
So I replied and shared about a principle I’d picked up along the way.
Maybe this is helpful for you or someone you know?
Here it is:
About the time thing… have you come across the idea of prioritizing the first hour of every day for “doing your thing”? The idea being that, even if it means setting your alarm for an hour earlier, you progress toward your goals at least a little bit every day.
It might be working on one article over a week. Or gradually going through a course. Or whatever is a focused step forwards towards your goals. It can also give added enthusiasm for the rest of the day because, even though you’re working for someone else, you know you’ve done your thing for the day.
Just a thought there. And an extra 5-6 hours a week working on your thing can take things forwards in surprisingly big leaps over a number of weeks.
Could be a helpful thing. Take or leave as suits.
I’m trying to do a similar thing… with doing my stuff first and client work a bit later in the morning or afternoon.
There you go. And as I said: “Take or leave as suits.”
And… I’m assuming you’re using the weekend for a bit of a breather so…
Have a great weekend rest! 😴
