We’ve just finished what I designated: “Bundlemania Month.”
It was an almighty great EXPERIMENT.
Especially after only being in bundles since the end of August.
After that first bundle…
MADNESS GRIPPED MY VERY SOUL! đ”
And I looked EVERYWHERE for bundles to join.
Not being one for half-measures, I signed up for 5 that were running during October!
There’s a fair amount of organizational overhead. Even for a participant. So I certainly won’t be doing this many again in one month.
Now, a “bundle” is a collaboration with other online business owners. Where we each contribute a paid product. And promote the free (or sometimes paid) bundle to our email and social media followers.
The idea being to grow our email audience when people sign up to get our product for free (or at a cheap bundle price).
I’m talking about this today because…
Bundles can be a way to RAPIDLY grow subscriber numbers
But care is required…
So you join bundles that are best-aligned with your business. And more likely to marry you up with your ideal clients.
Across all the 7 bundles I’ve been in since the end of August, I added 400+ subscribers to my email list.
Now, this ISN’T an eye-watering number. And I had far more signups in some bundles than others.
Other contributors did far better than me. Others, worse.
But there was plenty of food for my own future skill-building.
For example, there was one particularly badly-titled product I contributed to one bundle. And it lead to only a trickle of new subscribers.
But… live and learn.
Overall I’m happy with the numbers. And it’s delightful welcoming new subscribers to my list (đ).
I must say…
Signing up to be part of the 5 October bundles gave me a push to fast-track more product development.
So I created 5 products within the period of two weeks!
But if that wasn’t enough…
I decided I needed an audiobook version for each product. And a mobile-readable version for most of them, too!
Quite insane, really. Still not sure where the energy for all this came from!
Hindsight now permits me to say: I’d NOT recommend anyone do this number at once.
Because being in a bundle does take time and preparation.
You need a paid product to contribute. Then having all the automations set up to deliver the product. And other bits and pieces like product descriptions, personal bio, and headshot.
But the advantage of having this flurry of bundles in a short period was… it greased the wheels of my business a lot.
Because I now have more products to sell. And can contribute them to future bundles and other collaborations.
But the most exciting thing? …
After this experience, I’m now chomping at the bit for the next stage of my business.
Something that has been in a the works for a while now.
That is: launching my audio coaching subscription. (More about that in the next week or two.)
Bundles are a great way to dip your toes into collaborations. And start attracting an email list audience.
Luckily for you… now that this EPIC month has ended… you can enjoy hearing a LOT LESS from me about bundles!
