OK, OK… I know I said yesterday I wasn’t going to talk about Substack much on this list.
But it’s got some pretty nice features.
And there’s a particularly cool one I thought you might like to know about today.
I’m not an affiliate and shilling it or anything… just sharing some stuff that I’ve enjoyed since I started using it.
Many other writers find Substack a great way of expressing themselves online. And making some income.
Maybe it’s something you might look at one day? (If you’re not already using it. Or something similar).
So, the thing I want to rave about today is…
When you publish a post (or newsletter or whatever you like to call it)…
Substack sends you an email with ready-to-go social media images that match your post!
If you’ve uploaded a photo to go with it then that will be incorporated into some of them.
Other images it creates for you will have a solid color background, based on your branding.
You can even download the whole zip file of 16 images.
This makes it a cinch to promote your posts on other platforms. No mucking around in Canva or whatever other image editor you might use.
For me, I’ll use these for places like LinkedIn. But they’re fine for Facebook, Instagram and many other social media platforms.
What a flippin’ massive time saver!!
There’s plenty of other cool features. But this one I’m loving today.
It more than compensates for the “settings soup” that you have to work through when getting a site set up in Substack.
At least that’s mostly a one-time thing.
Anyhoo…
If you’re looking for a platform to publish your writing on. Maybe build an audience. And make some extra money (or a living)…
Then Substack is looking like a great place to do it.
I’m giving it a go now with my new weekly newsletter.

Have a great rest-of-the-week!
P.S. I had a shuffle around with the names of my lists.
Many of you who’ve been here for a while might not even know… a few months back I bestowed the name Freelance Contours on my daily email list.
But then this Substack thing came along. So what to call it? 🤔
I like the name Freelance Contours, so… I’ve kept it for both.
The Substack newsletter now takes the name Freelance Contours.
This daily email list I’m calling Freelance Contours Daily**.
And the daily emails are still the same format as they ever were.
Confused ya yet?
The thing is… if you’re happy with things as they’ve been until now, you can simply go back to not caring about what these lists are called. 😉
And if you’re not happy with how things are… might be time to hit the unsubscribe link.
Whatever you do…
I’m still happy for you to rave about either list to anyone you think could benefit.
