Around June last year I had a Zoom conversation with a writer friend. We were sharing our experiences. About writing, business, and life in general.
At one point I talked about the difference daily email made for me.
I said…
“[Daily Email’s] been the biggest thing for building my confidence and generating a ton of content. I’ve got three or four books worth of stuff. After six months I had something like 90,000 words or something. It was huge.”
Just now I ran my little Windows PowerShell script that counts the words in my emails. It’s now telling me: 247,137.
And that’s just email.
I’ve written a metric crapton more for products, video and audio scripts, sales pages, etc.
Now, this isn’t meant to be a bragathon…
Just a testament to the power of writing one simple daily email.
Which can even be a life-changer if you’re hesitant of putting pen to paper. Or downright scared, like I was.
But, like I said to my friend, daily email gave me the confidence to write. Because each small email wasn’t overwhelming. And I enjoyed the little buzz from sending it out.
Then I did it again the next day. And the next.
So my skills and confidence were gradually nudging forward.
These days I don’t fear writing emails.
And I don’t eternally procrastinate on writing the other stuff I need for my business.
Although, I’ve got a long way to go with sales pages. But again… will get there with practice.
