Too quick on the unsubscribe trigger

I had to laugh when I saw the unsubscribe from one person.

They’d come onto my list from a bundle. And signed up to get the paid product I was offering for free as part of that bundle.

But they literally unsubscribed the moment they got the first email!

They obviously didn’t read it. Because then they’d know to watch out for the next email, with the actual links to the product.

So they ended up with a “thanks” email. And nothing more. 🤦‍♂️

A little too quick on the unsubscribe trigger, methinks.

If I had to put money on it, I’d say they were simply freebie collecting.

And I doubt many, if any, of those resources would ever be looked at.

(I may be speaking from experience.)

On this occasion, the person self-repelled by slamming unsubscribe the moment they thought they’d secured the free product.

They weren’t interested in hearing any more from me. And having an ongoing relationship. One which could in fact help them move forward confidently with their email marketing.

Their actions sounded the alarm that we just weren’t a good match.

I want subscribers who aren’t flitting around. But are ready and willing to give 100% to building their email list. Even if they’re starting from zero.

It gives me a buzz. And I like buzzes. 😁

I don’t need to be needy about missing out on a subscriber. Because we can’t serve everyone.
