Saw the new Wonka movie yesterday. My youngest was keen. So I took her and the grandparents.
Was a bit of musical fun. (Even for an anti-musical movie grinch like me)
I especially enjoyed the hat tips to the 1971 film.
And didn’t Hugh Grant just make the cutest Oompa Loompa?
You know…
If Willy Wonka wasn’t busy single-mindedly chasing his chocolate-factory dream…
He’d make a flippin’ fantastic freelancer.
Here’s some reasons why:
1. Goal-oriented
Could say he’s this to a fault. The naysayers might say he’s deluded.
But he’s following his dream with a passion.
And when you are passionate about something… people notice.
If you’re passionate about helping clients solve their problems… they notice.
2. Has a support crew
He started alone. But soon found people who had aligned interests.
They help each other. And play to their strengths as they do.
Even though freelancers are a kind of solopreneur… going it solo ain’t the way to thrive.
3. Problems are hurdles to be overcome
Wonka faced mammoth setbacks. (Won’t spoil the movie by saying more.)
But he had to persevere. To bounce back even when someone else may retreat with their tail between their legs.
He had his support crew at the ready. And even finding assistance from unexpected angles.
4. Generous
Willy Wonka gave from his heart. And was authentic about it.
Giving his time and wanting people to experience what he has that he know they’ll love.
A freelancer going the extra mile puts smiles on client faces. And might just have a warm feeling in their heart as well.
…
Building up just some of these traits can be a boon for a freelancer.
If you’re focused on things like this…
I’m sure you’ll oompa loompa doompety doo well in 2024.
And if I had the chance… I’d recommend Master Wonka use this website and marketing system to help kickstart his business marketing:
systeme.io [affiliate link].
Perhaps you’ll also find it useful if you’re looking to get that website or email marketing up and running in the new year.
