If there’s something us online business owners do a LOT, it’s…
Writing.
Banging out blog articles. Social posts. Podcast scripts. Products.
And… emails.
Today I’ll share with you a structure that’s helpful for sales email writing.
But before I do, a small side note:
My daily emails usually DON’T follow a structure like this. Because they’re NOT your typical sales emails š
Continuing on…
When writing a sales email… to sell a product or service… it pays to keep focus on ONE thing. So they glide along smoothly. Without distractions.
Otherwise, they can become confused. And stop reading.
Worse:
A lack of clarity tends to raise questions and objections.
NOTHING slams the door to a sale closed quicker.
That’s tragic, especially when adding a little structure can make ALL the difference.
One simple way to keep sales copy on track, is to use a copywriting formula like: P.A.S.
Problem … Agitate … Solution.
A sales email might start off connecting with readers about a problem they have.
Then agitate. By diving into how it’s not just a “problem” for them…
But a “REALLY, REALLY BAD problem.”
And shows this issue needs dealing with. Preferably… RIGHT NOW!
Then comes the solution. Offering a welcome relief.
It could be…
… Sending them to a sales page. If they want to find out more.
… Or to an order page. If your regular emailing has built up desire over time.
… Or to take another step on their journey. Such as watching a YouTube video that demonstrates the product in action.
A LITTLE bit of copywriting skill can put a LOT of coin in your wallet… as you help your customers discover the solution to their problem.
