She left us in her dust

SMASH!!

“Woo! Yeah!”

“All down… again? Can you believe it?”

Something very unsusual was taking place that night.

It wasn’t the going bowling for my daughter’s birthday. Done that plenty of times.

Or hauling a truckload of friends around. “Lucky” me for being chauffer for the car where the latest relationship gossip was the hot topic. 😑

What was in fact smacking us between the eyeballs was this third strike. On top of 2 spares.

And this from a player who has literally NEVER scored over 100 in a bowling game. Ever.

This night she streaked ahead. And was leaving us in her dust.

I was SO excited. And so was she!

Especially because it was my wife, Vicki.

She’s not usually competetive about stuff like this. I’m the competitive one.

But this night, these fun surprises were pouring fuel on that fire.

She was having an awesome time with this.

So I felt bad when the end of the game rolled around…

Because she’d dropped a bit in the last couple of frames.

And I’d picked up a couple of strikes and spares.

So I nudged ahead to win by just a few points.

But she didn’t care. This was a career high for her!

It really was Vicki’s game that night.

And it was really fun cheering on her amazing run.

It’s the same kind of buzz I get when cheering people on who are making strides with email marketing.

Becuase it’s not always so easy. And there’s plenty of voices saying to forget email and focus on dancing around on TikTok instead.

Sometimes it’s useful to have extra support and encouragement.
