I was watching an interview with one of my favorite bands, The Warning.
I’ve heard them say this one thing many times before.
And sure enough, they said it again…
“It’s all about the music.”
“Of course an up-and-coming band would say this,” the cynic would scoff.
But I love it.
Because you can see it in their faces. In their expressions. As the passion exudes from them.
You know they believe it.
When I’m a world-famous email marketer, I want to be just like this when they interview me. 😜
Sauntering in wearing flip-flops. Laptop under my arm. Casually leaning back in the chair.
You’ll hear me say…
“It’s all about my email list!”
Which is really saying:
“It’s all about my subscribers.”
I’m a true believer.
But there’s days when I don’t quite bring it.
When I’m disappointed in my own email writing.
Where it doesn’t quite land as I planned.
But when you’re showing up day after day. People get a feel for your passion.
I love how I can do what I’m enthusiastic about. And do it without the stress.
I’m freed from the burden of thinking one particular email has to “count.” Or has to bring in a certain amount of sales.
It’s one reason my business has the tagline, “Low Stress Email Marketing.”
The secret to keeping email marketing low-stress…
At least the secret that I’ve discovered. And has been the bedrock on which I built my business.
But is so totally counterintuitive. Yet it really does make sense when you stop and think about it.
And better yet see it for yourself in your business.
The secret to low stress email marketing emailing is…
Emailing every day.
Simply because an email a day solves a LOT of problems that showing up less often creates.
There plenty of ways it does this….
I don’t need opening paragraphs in my emails, reminding people of when they signed up.
Because from day one they know. And the emails keep on flowing. It’s pretty hard to forget.
And you don’t have this needy-sounding opening to your email.
The pressure’s off. Because if I do or say something stupid in an email. It’s just one email.
It’s not my ONE CRITICAL EMAIL for the week. I just carry on tomorrow.
The emails filter out people who are not best suited to be my customers.
If what they’re getting from me doesn’t suit them, they’ll soon see that. And unsubscribe.
I don’t fear unsubscribes — I welcome them. (Go click “unsubscribe” now if this email list isn’t working for you.)
Most of the time I include a call-to-action link in the emails. Which naturally flows from what comes before.
I’m not having to think, “I have this product to sell. How can I write an email to do that?”
Instead:
I’ve got this fun story to tell.
And hey, that looks like a good tip that flows from it.
And whaddya know? This product of mine has parallels with the tip.
So that’s what I’ll link to today.
And the coolest thing?
Low Stress Email Marketing helps forge relationships with your ideal customers!
There’s a reason I say “Relationships are EVERYTHING” in various courses. And in emails from time-to-time.
It’s those relationships that will lead people to trust you.
They’ll stick with you. And enjoy the ways you help them get ahead. By empowering them to solve their problems.
