A short and sweet tip for today…
Don’t leave sorting out your business expenses until the day before your accountant (or whoever) needs them!
I may be speaking from experience here.
An experience I am PAINSTAKINGLY living through right now…
Because it’s end of the financial year in the neck of the global woods I live in.
And although I use a very cool company with their app that makes receiving payments from clients… and doing tax stuff and expenses a breeze…
There still comes a time when receipts for expenses have to be scanned in or uploaded.
And the best time is as they come in DURING THE YEAR.
(How many times do I have to tell myself that before it sinks in?)
Otherwise you’ll spend hours like me now… doing them at the last minute.
I’ve been spending so much time fossicking around finding receipts to match to my credit card statement.
And only getting a breather for 5 minutes to write this email.
To those of you who aren’t last-minuters with submitting expenses…
My sincerest hat-tip to you.
Maybe by next year I’ll have learned.
Catch you tomorrow… and hopefully will be out of this little self-made hell by then. 😐
