I was feeling a bit uninspired on writing this email today.
It’s late in the day now. It’s been a long one. Had my usual early start. Then worked on a new project. Followed by long bush walk and visit with friends.
Then tonight…
Stared blankly at the email idea I had already chosen for today. And thought:
“Naah… requires too much brain power to pull off”.
Yeah, yeah… I don’t use too much of that usually… I know 😆
So… thought I’d ask the internet for help. I’ve heard other people swear by writing prompts for when they’re feeling stuck.
So… why not?
I had a good old google around. But when you get back a bazillion pages with titles like:
“1800+ Creative Writing Prompts To Inspire You Right Now”
And:
“365 Creative Writing Prompts”
Well… it doesn’t make things that much easier. At least not for me.
Had to press on…
Clicked through to a few… and I found they’re not particularly geared for my style of writing daily emails.
I mean…
They’re general writing prompts. And “creative ideas” for getting started.
But I tend to write about stuff that’s going on in my life and business. Sometimes it’s a story. Maybe it’s some historical bits and pieces. Or just some ravings ejected from the mind of a madman.
So what am I to do?
Should I pick one of these ones that don’t really fit my way of doing things like:
Write a story about someone looking for a sign in a dark sky.
Write something inspired by a recent dream you had.
Write about your favorite childhood storybook.
I mean… I could… I guess?!
It’s my email list after all… so can write whatever I like.
I suppose I could make something work.
I could take the “sign in a dark sky” idea and talk about superstitions. Then pivot to being careful to work with facts in our businesses. And pivot again to inviting signing up to my BerkserkerMail affiliate link (https://milham.me/berserkermail) because it’s without a doubt the best software for daily email.
But I’m not quite feeling like I could wrangle that just now.
Might have to leave my email today without having a good idea to talk about.
Maybe tomorrow will have some more energy. Or hit a patch of inspiration. Or just do the jolly “sign in the sky” idea if there’s nothing else.
So… that’s all to say today.
Tomorrow things might pick up 😊
