Backyard bugs help my freelancing business

It’s Sunday where I live. Gazing out of my office window… it’s delightful seeing some blue sky poking through the clouds.

Spring is starting to make it’s mark. We’re already seeing the early signs…

The daffodils are out. The lawn is begging for its first cut of the season. And that blasted pine tree pollen has tinted everything a faint mustardy color.

But one of the coolest things?

The shiny red and black ladybugs have come out of hibernation.

I’m gazing at two of them sitting together on the window sill just in front of my desk. They’re like two envoys waving their flags and shouting: “Spring is here!” 🐞🐞

And, I kinda wonder…

How did they get onto my inside window sill when all the windows have been sealed tight?

(I’ll give them back their freedom in a moment when I open the window to my back yard.)

I’m left pondering…

What will this new season hold for me?

And for once I’m using “season” literally and NOT metaphorically!

What will this Spring season hold for me and my freelancing business?

Well… I’ve got some plans, and expectations, and likely things that will happen based on my past actions.

But, let’s be real… who really knows what’s going to happen?

So I’m not going to sit here and try to predict things.

But what I AM going to do is…

Take advantage of the season change.

Because It’s a great time to do an evaluation of how the past 3 months have been. And to readjust goals for the next 3 months.

Things ebb and flow and the unexpected happens…

Client needs change. Personal projects need to be parked. New opportunities open up.

So…

Having flexible goals is a real help.

It might not be springtime in your neck of the global woods, but there’ll be a season change taking place just the same.

Maybe it’s a signal for some reflection and goal setting time.

And if it’s not the best time for goal setting…

Maybe there’s some unusual critter that’s been able to find it’s way onto your window sill right under your nose… waiting for you to notice and appreciated it!

Enjoy the change of seasons. 🌞
