A question of credibility… or a missed opportunity?

Yesterday I was doing research for some business opportunities…

And was surprised to find email marketing companies that had NO email list of their own!

I immediately wondered about how credible this looks to their prospective clients. 🤔

I mean… how can they say they help other businesses with email marketing if they’re not “eating their own dog food” by growing their own email list?

A little later on… the same kind of thoughts came up when I was going through a pile of websites for freelancers… whose area of expertise is email marketing.

Again… no dog food munching to be seen.

But as I thought about it some more… I came to see it as a missed opportunity.

The thing is…

If your core business is email marketing… then having an email list is a way to show your expertise.

But it’s also a way for you to nurture prospective clients.

It’s like this…

Your prospects may know they have a problem that needs solving. But they might not be ready to pull the trigger on solving it just yet. Maybe the pain hasn’t caused them to wince enough.

But they may come across your business. And see you have a way to help them with their problem.

And because you offer a lead magnet that helps them get a quick win in one area… they sign up to your list.

Over time, trust builds as they see the value you continue to offer.

And when they’re finally ready to pull the trigger… they know just who to contact.

An email list can be helpful… not just for email marketers…

But for any business where prospective clients are at various stages… and might not be ready to buy right away.

It’s a way to continue nurturing the relationship. And tapping into a much larger group of potential clients.

Because you’re not limited to only those who arrive at your doorstep, needing their problem solved RIGHT NOW!

You’re able to help anyone on your list who decides they are ready to buy.

At the time when they want to buy your services or digital products… having a shopping cart system set up makes things super-easy.

From handling credit card purchases… to order fulfilment. So much is automated. So you can literally sell while you sleep.

ThriveCart is what I use.
