Last year the five of us headed away to the city to attend an award ceremony for my daughter.
The shoebox-sized motel we stayed at meant we were practically tripping over each other.
For writing my emails I had to make the most of a bad situation.
Which meant my standing desk that day was at the kitchen sink. Laptop on a teatowel.
Meanwhile, I nervously hoped the delicate electronics of my laptop wouldn’t meet a sudden death from a wayward spray of water. 😅
I already had an email idea ready to go. So it was a fun session of fleshing it out.
Then I could move on to the FUNNEST part: The Play-Doh process… squishing and shaping as I edit. And being pleasantly surprised by what emerges.
It must have looked ridiculous. Typing away at the sink. Surrounded by dishes and breakfast food.
I wasn’t phased.
But just a few months prior…
If Chris was writing his email at a kitchen sink… with family chatting just a few steps away… he would’ve blown a gasket!
Good thing I’d now been writing daily email for 5 months. And the process was more-or-less ingrained.
So it became more of a fun, creative time than a heart-pounding “what the heck am I doing?” experience.
Being able to write emails in situations like this… comes down to confidence.
But it doesn’t just drop in your lap one day.
Sadly, “I’m not confident” is a reason many business owners give for not making progress toward their goals.
Building email-marketing confidence is why I brought Email Ace to life.
Email Ace is my new email-marketing coaching subscription that I’m launching this week.
The weekly audio releases offer a chance to make a regular commitment to upskilling, gaining insight, and being encouraged to keep pressing on toward your goals.
I’m delighted to include the bonus gift of my newly minted Email Mindset Constructinomicon with every new subscription to Email Ace.

The rest of the Constructinomicon helps smash through mindset challenges.
In fact, it’s a letter to my past self. And boy could I have used the advice back then!
