Back in 2023 I was learning the ropes writing client emails. And the previous year I’d written plenty of copy for client websites. As well as written assignments for courses I was doing.
But for any other writing I tried to do…
I was practically crippled.
It seemed that with a deadline I could get the writing done.
But without one…
I just couldn’t bring myself to write the articles. Or the blog posts. Or social media posts.
Or any of the stuff I should be writing. (Or at least what someone told me I should be writing?!)
I had a morbid fear of putting pen to paper…
As though the moment I touched the ballpoint tip to my lined pad… a ghoulish hand would reach out and drag me kicking and screaming to a place of eternal torment!
I think there was a heapin’ helpin’ of perfectionism… with a dollop of good ol’ fashioned self-doubt on the side.
Whatever it was… it was holding me back. BIG TIME!
That is…
Until the crazy notion of writing a daily email came along.
Now, it didn’t come out of the blue.
I’d been watching how the likes of Ben Settle and Daniel Throssell were making it work.
And I was slowly seeing there was something to it.
Then… one day… it was my turn…
I just knew I had to do it.
So… I started.
And haven’t stopped.
I think… for me… having a mini deadline every single day helps go a long way toward getting into the rhythm of it.
After just 6 months, my word-count-ometer had clocked in at 91,987.
Plus, there were a heap more words I wrote that didn’t make the cut for my emails.
I discovered how daily email is a great way to build relationships with people on your email list.
But it has the added bonus of helping writers to write.
I’m glad I found it.
As clichéd as it sounds…
Daily email changed my life!
It’s why I’m writing this email today.
And continuing to connect with people who are interested in growing their own email list.
If that’s you… and you’re ready to build your email list…
