My wife Vicki steps through the door. And says to me
“Hey. The passenger door on the car isn’t opening from the inside. Can you take a look?”
She’s SO positive.
One thing I love about her is her short memory of my track record of “fixing” cars.
Let’s just say, I’m no mechanic! 😏
Although, strike me blind, this time I DID have a fair idea what the problem was.
“Should be a quick fix,” I replied.
I grabbed my screwdriver and some some spudgers. And trudged out to the car.
Unscrewing the door panel was easy enough.
But after much shaking and jiggling and yanking, I couldn’t for the life of me get the damn panel to come off.
And YouTube wasn’t in a helpful mood that day.
So there was nothing else for it…
I had to concede defeat.
The thing is, I’ve broken off enough car parts in my life to now know my limits.
No need to talk here about damaged rear-view mirrors, mud guards, and various other plastic doodads that never quite fitted back where they came from.
The car is now booked in with the mechanic.
It’ll take them all of 2-minutes to figure it out.
But it’s better to save time, cost, and exasperation. And just pay someone whow knows what they’re doing.
(It’s taken me FAR TOO MANY years to not let my pride take a hit when I say that! 😂)
When it comes to our businesses…
Just like getting the car door fixed, it can pay to get help from others.
That may mean parting with some moolah.
It’s not a bad option when doing the job ourselves isn’t worth our time. Or we don’t have time to learn the skills. Or just don’t want to do it.
