Well, I’m not. Honest!
Although I CAN can stand accused of being a bit sloppy with my English.
I was in fact talking about a low attendance EVENT.
But… if you self-identify as a lemon, don’t let me get in your way! 🍋
Ahem. (Must be in a good mood!)
So… had the Q&A zoom call this morning. The one I’d advertised these last few days for helping people with finding clients.
But the only people who showed up were some of my buddies.
They didn’t really need the short talk that I was going to give. Or the Q&A time.
So I guess it was a complete waste of time. And a big failure, right?
Well… you’ve read the subject line. So I’ve already let the cat out of the bag. 👜🐈
Instead of it being a time for me to pack a sad because “nobody likes me”…
It was a time where…
I enjoyed a catch up with friends.
I learned a couple of cool Zoom tricks I didn’t know already.
We talked about AI image generation. And how it could be used for a friend’s book project.
I gave an impromptu Canva tutorial. Showing how I create AI images. Like the ones I use for my website and book covers.
And afterwards, I was able to generate an AI transcription from the recording. So, using only the words I spoke, I now have content for at least 8 emails (possibly articles). Just based on stuff I was chatting with friends about.
All in all, not too bad for an hour doing something completely different than what I rocked up to do.
So… this time was definitely NOT wasted… AT ALL!
Even the preparation time for this little event wasn’t wasted.
Bonus things from setting things up these past few days means…
I’ve learned a few extra tricks about automations using BerserkerMail.
There’s some email templates ready to reuse.
I learned that I should line up some people to comment on my LinkedIn post for things like this. So it gets shown to more people.
I have a bit of thinking to do about whether I advertise things like this wider. Or maybe don’t bother with free events at all. (I’ve not really figured this area out yet… so open to hear from the sages amongst us.)
There was also the reminder of how many encouraging souls there are in my network. The virtual pats on the back made me all 😊.
I enjoyed today’s event and the lead up.
And even though it wasn’t what I expected…
It was a pleasant reminder… you CAN make lemonade from low-attendance lemons. 😎
