So I was sitting in my office. Busy working on another email (are we surprised?)

Headphones on. And I was having a merry old time bopping along to “Turn It Off” by Paramore.

Unbeknownst to me…

My youngest daughter had slipped in through the door.

Now, my back is to the door when I’m working at my desk. So, with headphones on, I’m oblivious to any noises.

Leah raises her hands. Spreads her arms far apart.

And right behind my head brings them together with an almighty great…

SMACK!!! 

Let’s just say…

My skin was left behind in my chair…

As my head smashed into the roof!

After I’d regained my composure…

She was still chuckling away to herself. Looking rather pleased with her accomplishment.

“Yeah… nice one”, I said, “but watch your back!”

I hate surprises like that. 

Fortunately…

I DO like the kind of surprises where you get to unwrap them to discover the treasures inside.

Without sudden loud noises!
