No matter, because…
The royal zapping Steven Pressfield’s book, The War of Art, gave me… was JUST what I needed.
It always packs a huge punch for any creative type. At least, I think so.
I remember being wide-eyed, mouth gaping, when I first read about the “personality” called Resistance.
It’s almost a given each one of us will run into this demon. Probably in one of its grotesque forms… like procrastination. Or distraction.
It will likely stalk us for the rest of our days…
But the “good side” seems to put in an appearance when baddies like this are doing their worst.
When Resistance feels strongest…
It’s like a green light to go right ahead and do what it’s telling you NOT to…
Because, just by showing up, it shines the spotlight on what we ought to be doing.
Giving a name to this enemy… who would love nothing better than us NEVER sit down to work… is extremely empowering.
Reading the book always gives me a strong motivational boost.
Or should I just say… “kick up the pants?”
