A few days back, I mentioned about the incident with my hair.
And why I ended up with none.
Well… when I got to just 2 days of regrowth…
Taking off my woolen beanie meant… ripping it off.
It was THAT attached to my head.
The Velcro stage of hair regrowth had arrived.
It’s not its usual soft and flowing self.
Instead… my hair follicles have mass-produced enough keratin…
That each hair is reaching out just enough to be rigid… and grip tightly to anything with fibers.
Reminds me of bad habits…
How they have a tendency to stick around. And don’t like being torn out of our lives.
But with patience. And remembering the pain of beating them is just a stage…
They won’t keep their little Velcroey hooks in forever.
Procrastination is one of those mental habits that keeps many of us from achieving our dreams sooner. Or at all.
It’s been an unwanted companion of mine.
Procrastination is a habit of giving in to fear.
But what if we were decisive? And courageous?
To do what needs to be done to move forward?
Courage is feeling the fear. And taking action anyway.
Writing emails every day… let alone offering things that people can buy… wasn’t something I was born with.
Nor does taking the risk that no one… or everyone… might say “yes.”
But I’m glad to have learned a few things along the way. And been able to take some steps forwards.
Even doing some facing up to fears. And putting some bad habits in their place.
There’s a long way to go still. But it’s a journey of baby steps.
If today is a procrastination-busting day for you…
