Email ideas come from all sorts of places.
Like for me with today’s email, which comes from chopping some content out of a product I’ve just about finished putting together.
This content wasn’t quite aligned to work well in the product…
But is still great stuff (if I say so myself! 😆)…
Hence sharing it here today!
And the subject line of today’s email was inherited from the title of the original section in the product. (In case you were wondering.)
So the content I want to share starts here…
There’s a strategy to consider with email marketing for your own business…
“Use Vaseline Liberally”
Yeah.. odd… I know…
But it’s about reducing friction… and vaseline can help with chafing… that is caused by friction…
So… there we go.
Point is: reducing friction in your business is a good thing.
As in, reducing the time tasks take. Things like setting up an email to send.
Or how easy it is (or not) to record and edit the audio for your podcast.
And how quickly you can get an invoice sent off to a client.
The easier these things are to do… and the less friction that’s causing those jobs do be painful to do…
The more likely you are to do them. To Keep on doing them. And enjoy doing them.
More friction means more time and frustration.
And that leads to things not getting done. And giving up in despair.
We can sidestep friction, by looking for the simplest, quickest ways to do things.
It’s not one big 💥SHEBANG💥… and it’s all sorted.
It’s about gradually changing things. Removing friction a little bit at a time.
I noticed when things are streamlined then it’s more likely I’ll do them. Like doing them. And become better at doing.
We can help ourselves by choosing tools that are low-friction.
Paper and pen can be that.
But if you’re writing emails out on a pad… then having to get them into a digital form in your email software… then that can be high friction.
But even if you can’t or don’t want to type them in… it’s possible to massively reduce the friction by recording audio. And getting it transcribed.
