What I learned creating 5 products in 1 month

The last week of September was in-flippen-sane!

During the course of that week I banged out 3 products.

Then I realised I needed a 4th one. So The weekend just past was a TAD busy as well!

These 4 new products are all things I’ll sell as low-ticket offers.

And I think they’re pretty darn good. 😁

What I created was…

  • 9 Email Marketing Relationship-Breakers… and How to Avoid Them
  • 21 Often-Overlooked Strategies to Streamline Your Email Marketing
  • How To Make Your Email Opt-in Page Appeal to Your IDEAL Clients
  • Low Stress Relationship-Building Using Email

These are all in the form of a guide. Plus bonus mobile-readable and audiobook versions.

A month or so before, I had created what would become the template for all of these…

  • How to Write Your Own Must-Open Email Subject Lines

So that’s now…

5 new products in the space of a month!

I made them so I have something to contribute to the bundles I’ve signed up for.

(I’ll be telling you all about those bundles from next week. And how you can get these products of mine for FREE!)

Just so you know… bundles are events where online business owners contribute a paid product.

People who sign up for the bundle get some great resources. Often for free or a low cost. And contributors grow their email lists.

“Win-Win,” as they say.

Things I learned from last week’s product-creation marathon were…

  • It’s hard work (whoda thunk?)
  • I don’t quite have the stamina I used to when I was banging out code to all hours of the morning in my 20s.
  • When I have a deadline, just about anything is possible!
  • Energy drinks are a REALLY BAD idea!

About the last month of product-creation in general…

  • I CAN actually write things that aren’t emails!
  • Writing a metric ton of emails helped me cope with writing and editing the 32,000+ words that went into these 5 products.
  • I have a lot in my head that really wants to get out!
  • Products don’t have to be complex. They just need to be clear and useful.

I’m excited that these products now exist.

They are assets for my business. And…

I created them from thin air!

I can now continue refining them. Making them even better as time goes on.

(Rather than making them perfect to start with — a note for my recovering perfectionist self.)

When putting things like these out into the world…

It’s possible to be dragged down by worrying what people will think of my creations.

But with these tight timeframes… I’ve barely had time to think any thoughts like that! 😊

And you know what?…

Who cares if someone doesn’t like my writing style. Or thinks my cover images look crappy! Or frowns at my stupid jokes. Or whatever.

If people don’t like what I create. That’s fine. It’s not for them. They can go find greener pastures that suit them.

It WILL suit other people. And it’s for them that I create.

Focusing on the effort we put in, rather than caring what other people think, is part of stepping up as the leader of our own business.

We have to do this in all areas. From product creation to email marketing.
