If you speak out loud better than you type onto a page…
Then why not take advantage of the way that works best for you?
Grab your mobile phone. Install an AI transcription app. And get “writing” those emails.
I use one called Transkriptor. It’s Okay. But there’s others out there like Rev.com.
AI transcription options, like these, tend to be nicely priced. The monthly fee I pay is less than my hourly rate as a contractor.
So… if it’s going to make you write quicker and in a more enjoyable way…
Then… why not?
You don’t have to be locked into sitting down at a keyboard and writing emails. You can write them with your voice.
And you can do it on the go. I’ve written emails while out walking in the park. Or driving my car.
You can then edit them at your computer, like I do.
But there’s other options as well.
You could use something like Descript. Where you upload your audio, convert it into text, and have it do things like automatically remove the “ums” and “aahs”.
But a cool feature is… you can write new words… and they’ll automatically be replaced with your own voice!
This means you can use a tool like this to edit your emails. But also create matching audio from it… in your own voice.
That very easily opens the door to using your email for things like a podcast.
You could upload that to various podcast networks. And get much wider reach for your content.
If you’ve been on my list for any length of time… you’ll know just how much I LOVE repurposing content like this.
There’s plenty of cool tools out there that mean you don’t have to start your emails in front of a computer.
Today, I’m recording this email on my phone using my transcription app. And I’m editing with the text editor I usually use for emails.
It’s pretty easy to work like this because the transcription has a similar flow to the way I write my emails. So it’s a pleasant editing experience.
