Call me crazy (you won’t be alone)…
But I was “wowed” by the little ball of wax on the tip of my new ballpoint pen.
I never knew that was a thing.
But it’s an AWESOME thing for a consumer of pens because…
This has got to be the first pen I’ve EVER bought that wrote the very moment I touched it to the paper!
I didn’t have to do a scribbling fistfight to get the ink flowing. Just pop off the ink ball… and write!
It wasn’t an expensive pen either. I mean… it came in a box of 12 that I got for about $5 (USD).
OMG… I love this pen!!
I salute the mind that added the delightful little touch of the wax ball.
I’ve become a satisfied customer almost immediately.
This is a perfect illustration to me just how important the little things can be when we’re serving our customers.
And little “nice surprises” can be so memorable. They don’t have to be costly in time or money either.
Sometimes it’s just the little thing of responding quickly to messages from customers. Even if you can’t help them straight away… they know you’ve heard them.
It could be the extra touch of sending a physical “thank you” card with some chocolatey goodies when you’ve wrapped up a project. Or even beforehand… when they’ve decided to put their trust in you.
I don’t think you can go too far wrong by doing delightful or “extra mile” things for your clients.
