Thought I’d share a fun excerpt from one of the products I put together this week.
It’s from…
“Low Stress Relationship-Building Using Email.”
Not yet available… but will be showing up in a bundle soon. And you can be sure I’ll let you know when that’s coming up.
So I wanted to share this bit…
Because you might find it handy when thinking about why it’s important to show up consistently in your subscribers’ inboxes…
When building relationships the low-stress way, you don’t need to be the best email copywriter in the world.
You simply need to, as one fine marketer says…
“Show you care by showing up.” — Chris Milham, September 2024
Regularly showing up in your subscribers’ inboxes creates friendly familiarity. It sets the stage for them liking you more.
If you show up regularly, they’ll get to know your name more.
They’ll start to remember that you’re someone who shares interesting things that can help them. Or who puts a smile on their face when they open Gmail first thing in the morning.
There’s a Seinfeld episode about when Elaine stopped sharing casual greetings with a guy in her apartment. And it wasn’t long before animosity arose between them.
I think Jerry Seinfeld put it well when he says to Elaine:
“A relationship is an organism. You created this thing and then you starved it. So it turned against you.”
Like the relationship with people on our email list…
We created it… we feed it… and we are responsible for how it turns out.
Regular, positive interactions will help lead to sales and delighted customers.
So that’s just ONE of the reasons I email every day.
